Historical landmark where Dominican independence was proclaimed on February 27, 1844. It is also the Entrance to Parque Independencia where the founding fathers of the Dominican Republic are laid to rest: Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sanchez, and Ramon Matias Mella.
